About SEE

SEE, Save the Environment Ethiopia, is a local NGO working on Environment. Founded by Ethiopians in 2007, it operates in Refugee and IDP impacted areas in the Somali Region of Ethiopia with a vision to expand to all parts of Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa.

Vision

SEE's Vision is to minimize resource conflict between the refugee and host community and lessen refugee impact on environmental degradation by increasing environmental awareness and participation of both communities in conservation projects designed in line with the regional and national environmental policies.

Mission

SEE's Mission is to ensure that: desertification is combated and degraded land is managed in the refugee and other impacted areas of Ethiopia by encouraging partnership with all stake holders in carrying out environmental protection works by inspiring, informing the refugee and host community to improve their quality of life without jeopardizing that of the future generation; and more importantly integrating Environmental protection work with livelihood enhancement.

Beneficiaries are primarily refugees living in Kebribeyah, Shedder, Awbere, Melkadida, Bekolmayo and, Kobe Refugee camps. Also included are the Host community living in the vicinity who share their meagre resources with refugess.
